Church of the Incarnation
What makes us different?
" Love does no evil to the neighbor;
hence, love is the fulfillment of the law."
- Romans 13:10
Apostolic Succession
We maintain a valid and unbroken apostolic succession. This ancient doctrine holds that the sacramental and ecclesial authority rests with the bishops. One bishop passes along this succession from the time the
12 apostles were ordained
by Jesus Christ.
"Let them produce the original records of their churches; let them unfold the roll of their bishops, running down in due succession from the beginning."
-Tertullian 3rd Century A.D.
Our succession can be found at:
Eucharistic
The Eucharist is the sacrament of Holy Communion. Through Holy Scripture and Holy Tradition we believe this means Holy Communion is the true Body and Blood of Christ. It is not merely a symbolic act performed by the priest. No, the Eucharist is the meeting of
heaven and earth. It is Jesus in
His Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity that comes to you.
“The Eucharist is the sacrament of love: it signifies love, it produces love. The Eucharist is the consummation of the whole spiritual life.”
-St. Thomas Aquinas
Inclusive
We are a church that never discriminates. All walks of life and all peoples are welcome here. Whether you have been to church many times or have never been to church at all, we want you to feel welcome here. We are a church that speaks out against bigotry of any kind.
"The stranger who sojourns with you shall be to you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were strangers in the land of Egypt:
I am the Lord your God."
-Leviticus 19:34
Independent
While many similarities exist between us and other Catholic communions, we are part of the National Catholic Apostolic Church in the United States. Simply meaning we are not in full communion with other Catholic jurisdictions such as: The Roman Catholic Church, The Anglican Communion, the Old Catholic Church of Utrecht, the Eastern Catholic Churches and the Eastern Orthodox Churches. We have many healthy and thriving parishes around the world through our both synodal and hierarchical structure.
"Indeed, it would be monstrous to feel pleasure in the schisms and divisions of the churches, and not to consider the greatest of goods consists in knitting together of members of Christ's Body."
-St. Basil the Great
